Beyond a Day Safari

A Night Inside the Forest, Not Just Outside It

Corbett Tiger Reserve is split into distinct ecotourism zones, each with its own entry gate, forest department permits and safari timings. A few of these zones — Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Sona Nadi and Dhela — also have government Forest Rest Houses (FRHs), letting you stay overnight inside or right at the edge of the reserve.

Others, like Durga Devi and Corbett Landscape, are open for day safaris only, with no forest-lodge night stay currently available. We've kept that distinction clear for every zone below, exactly as published by the forest department.

  • 5 Zones With Night Stay
  • 2 Day-Safari-Only Zones

Jhirna Zone forest rest house in Jim Corbett National Park Night Stay Available

Jhirna Zone

  • Dhela Gate
  • ~25 km from Ramnagar

Sona Nadi Zone

Dhela Eco-Tourism Zone

  • Dhela Gate
  • ~15–18 km from Ramnagar

Why Stay Inside the Reserve

Wake Up Already Inside the Forest

A forest rest house isn't a resort — it's basic, government-run, and exactly what makes it worth choosing for a real Corbett night.

First & Last Light

Morning and evening safaris start from inside the zone, not a drive away.

Real Forest Sounds

No traffic, no town lights — just the reserve after the day visitors leave.

Simple, Not Fancy

Restaurant or canteen meals, basic rooms — run by the forest department, not a hotel chain.

Book Well Ahead

Popular FRHs like Dhikala fill up 45–60 days in advance during peak season.

Inside the Park or Just Outside It

Choose How Close You Sleep to the Wild

Stay inside the reserve at a forest rest house, or unwind at a resort just outside the gates — either way, we'll help you plan the safaris around it.
